Bimonthly Review no. 18

Vilnius University Institute of International Relations and Political Science (IIRPS VU), Bimonthly Review no. 18. June-July, Belarus Research Network on Neighborhood Policy, 2025.

This bimonthly review summarises key developments in Belarus in June–July 2025. It begins with security-related incidents, including drone incursions into Lithuania and a drone crash in Minsk. It then examines government reshuffles, notably the appointment of Natallia Piatkevich as Deputy Prime Minister. The review also highlights continued human rights violations, brokered by the US selective prisoner releases, and the terrorist designation of the exiled opposition. Further, it reflects the activities of democratic forces and controversies within solidarity initiatives. The final section covers economic developments, including the ongoing potato crisis, rising inflation, and slowing GDP growth.
